Covid 19, Delta Variant
Covid-19 Concerns, Aug. 1, 2021 Fr. Al’s requests.
As much as we would like to believe this Covid 19 pandemic is getting behind us, there are still good reasons for remaining vigilant.
The Offices of the Archdiocese have offered no new guidelines. As you probably know, the CDC is suggesting even fully vaccinated people wear masks in public indoor places, especially where there is a rise in cases.
Here in Hamilton County there is some increase of infections and hospitalizations.
At Sunday Masses here, I will still ask those who distribute Communion to wear a mask.
At the sign of peace, limit such close contact to your immediate family.
We will designate more pews in the church where you can sit socially distant. Those of us who are fully vaccinated could carry the Delta variant even while having no symptoms ourselves. Wearing masks at Mass for future Sundays seems to be good practice for the sake of the unvaccinated, which includes many of our children.
And I plead with anyone who is not vaccinated: Be a prolife Catholic and get the vaccine for the sake of others and yourself.
